 Hollow Form Object: Concept Generation

These are some of the object concepts I came up with for the hollow objects! I naturally gravitated to the twist command for a lot of these, but also used functions like extrudeCrv, taper, bend, stretch, etc.



1. 


Played around with the twist command for this one. I like how the sections separate from one another, but I'm not too sure if a rotation that steep would work for 3D printing.

Some tests with the twist and taper commands.

This concept focused around sharper shapes. Each shape has a hollowed out section on the inside and meet one another at the base. Once again I'm not 100% sure how this would hold up printed.

I played around a lot with bases and lofting beams through platforms. I really enjoyed the shapes in this one.

Not too sure of the stability of this guy (maybe upside down), but it reminds me a lot of coral. I tried to create a more organic form for this concept.

Focusing on more geometric shapes, I based this concept around twisting and stretching a polygon.
